For the Man in my Man's Life...

Happy Saturday Bloggers!

Today I'm puttering around the house trying to get my mojo flowing...watched some You Tube, watched some TV - nothing on...and then I realized - I haven't shared this weeks Paper Therapy Challenge - such a bad girl I am this week....

This week's challenge is to create something for the man in your life.  With Father's Day coming up, I decided to do something for my FIL.  Now, I can't take credit for the concept because my project started as a class from GASC last weekend in Arlington.  However, I did go off the directions and redo the layouts in the mini and the top of the box...Enjoy!

The box is an altered Cigar box covered with patterned papers, black paint, and a metal foil frame.  Inside, there will be a mini album made from a Journal Spiral by Bo Bunny.  I love that idea and had to share!  Wish I'd have thought of it first. ;)

The pages are decorated with various cardstock borders, die cuts, and metal charms from Time Holtz.

I still have several pages to finish in my mini, but I wanted to share this because I thought it was such a fun idea.  I can't wait to see what you guys come up with!!  You will have until June 22 to complete your projects and post them to Paper Therapy.

Happy Monday - Masculine Challenge - RAK

Happy Happy Monday Bloggers.  Only 3 days left til Thanksgiving, which means a short work week for me.  Yay!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  Dave and I spent the weekend getting out finances in order.  One step closer to being full-fledged adults....Yay...or something....  Good news is we're in a lot better shape than we thought and we now have a plan to get into a house.  I am so excited!  We'll still be waiting a little while longer than I would have liked, but I will have to be patient to get my own Babrie Dream House...complete with Scrap Room, Home Office, and Game Room - so Dave and I will finally have out own rooms...so looking forward to that.  ;)

Monday also brings another awesome challenge to Paper Therapy.  This weeks Challenge is dedicated to the man/ men/ boys in your life.  Our sweet boys and men are so wonderful, but so often their pages and cards make our heads spin.  We challenge you to create a card or layout desinged for the special men/ boys in your life.  I made cards - here's what I submited for the Challenge:
I made this using Creative Memories Primary Power Pallette.   I actuallly designed this card during Croptoberfest while trying to design some fun masculine cards while designing some fun easy cards - to kinda take the scary out of card making.

I really hope you can join us at Paper Therapy this week.  In fact, I'm not above bribing this week...hee hee.  I will be RAK'ing 2 Make A Wish Card Kits to 2 people who participate in this week's challenge - post your card by midnight on Saturday, November 27 and post a comment back here to let me know you posted a challenge.  I will draw my winners Sunday and announce it here on my Blog Monday with the new challengle.

I hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving filled with wonderful times, fantastic food, and togetherness with your family.

Happy Scrapping!

Happy Monday and another Great Challenge!

Happy Monday Bloggers!

One year ago today I married my best friend and most handsome man in the world - my husband David.  It's been a wonderful first year of marriage and I can not wait to see what the future holds for us.  He really is the most wonderful man in the world and I thank God everyday he is in my life.

Today also marks Challenge #4 at Paper Therapy!  This week the Design Team was challenged to create a card using nothing but scraps - all patterrned paper and ribbons used must be scraps, but the card base can be a full sheet of cardstock.  I love working with scraps so I went a little crazy on this challenge - even the card bases are scraps!  Here's my take on the challenge:
These 4 cards each measure 3.5" x 5.5" - if you're cutting A2 cards out of 12x12 cardstock, you get a strip measuring 12"x3.5" - this is where I got the scraps for my card bases. :o) The Patterned Paper is all scraps from a card class I designed several months ago for my CM group.

Supplies:
Creative Memories Cardstock: Green Apple, Yellow, Green, Royal Blue
Creative Memories Primary Paper Buttons
Creative Memories Primary Letters
Creative Memories Paper Ribbon
Creative Memories Primary Designer Prints Patterned Paper
Creative Memories Discover Title Stickers
Tape Runner and Foam Adhesive

This challenge was super fun, and the cards I've made are going to a Summer Camp for abused children.  The counselors leave the kids encouraging cards every day so they are always looking for donations of handmade cards - any size/ shape/ colors - no envelopes needed.  If you are interested in donating cards to this cause, please let me know - jessi.myers.cm@gmail.com.  I can forward you her address, or you send your cards to me and I'll send them with mine.  All cards must be submitted by or before June 2011 for this next summer.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Don't forget to check out the other Design Team Members' blogs to see their fantastic creations.  They've all done a wonderful job -you can find them on my left side bar toward the top.  Stop by for a visit and leave them all some love.

Hope you all have a great week and get to participate in Paper Thearpy's challenge.
Hugs,
Jessi
