Happy Monday and another Great Challenge!

Happy Monday Bloggers!

One year ago today I married my best friend and most handsome man in the world - my husband David.  It's been a wonderful first year of marriage and I can not wait to see what the future holds for us.  He really is the most wonderful man in the world and I thank God everyday he is in my life.

Today also marks Challenge #4 at Paper Therapy!  This week the Design Team was challenged to create a card using nothing but scraps - all patterrned paper and ribbons used must be scraps, but the card base can be a full sheet of cardstock.  I love working with scraps so I went a little crazy on this challenge - even the card bases are scraps!  Here's my take on the challenge:
These 4 cards each measure 3.5" x 5.5" - if you're cutting A2 cards out of 12x12 cardstock, you get a strip measuring 12"x3.5" - this is where I got the scraps for my card bases. :o) The Patterned Paper is all scraps from a card class I designed several months ago for my CM group.

Supplies:
Creative Memories Cardstock: Green Apple, Yellow, Green, Royal Blue
Creative Memories Primary Paper Buttons
Creative Memories Primary Letters
Creative Memories Paper Ribbon
Creative Memories Primary Designer Prints Patterned Paper
Creative Memories Discover Title Stickers
Tape Runner and Foam Adhesive

This challenge was super fun, and the cards I've made are going to a Summer Camp for abused children.  The counselors leave the kids encouraging cards every day so they are always looking for donations of handmade cards - any size/ shape/ colors - no envelopes needed.  If you are interested in donating cards to this cause, please let me know - jessi.myers.cm@gmail.com.  I can forward you her address, or you send your cards to me and I'll send them with mine.  All cards must be submitted by or before June 2011 for this next summer.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Don't forget to check out the other Design Team Members' blogs to see their fantastic creations.  They've all done a wonderful job -you can find them on my left side bar toward the top.  Stop by for a visit and leave them all some love.

Hope you all have a great week and get to participate in Paper Thearpy's challenge.
Hugs,
Jessi

Paper Therapy Challenge #2

Happy Monday Bloggers

We had a really great turnout to our very first challenge at Paper Therapy.  Thanks to everyone who participated.  Congratulations to Kimberly - our first winner!

This weeks Challenge is a little more challenging - and best described by our fearless leader - Kristin:
This week we have a product challenge for you.

Make a project using the first stamp you ever bought.
If you don’t have it anymore then use the earliest stamp you have.

What a fun way to pull out those oldies but goodies.
They need some lovin too!!

Can't wait to see your stamps.

Here's my take on the Challenge:

This weeks challenge was definitely a challenge for me - I've done cards for so long without stamping that I nearly forgot how to make a card where the primary focus is a stamp.  My inspiration came at Croptoberfest from one of our croppers.  She saw my stamp and asked to borrow it.  She stamped it on a page torn from an old dictionary - GENIUS!  I did the same, reinforced it with cardstock and rubbed it down with my brown chalking ink. I was really pleased with the way it came out.  It's also inspired me to think outside of the box- and I hope it's inspired you too.

In other news, work has been super busy!  It's only Monday and I know it is going to be a long week.  On a brighter note, it's 1 week closer to my Birthday and I can not wait.  I am looking forward to spending time with my family and friends this weekend at the Fair and at home.  I'm also anxious to get some pictures taken of the cards I made this past weekend at Croptoberfest - I'll try to get those up later this week, as well as more details from the Ghost Hunt.
Have a great week and be safe!!
